The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the second annual New Canaan Restaurant Week, which takes place from Friday, Aug. 24, to Thursday, Aug. 30.

Participating restaurants will feature prix fixe menus that are designed to entice diners throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties to visit New Canaan for lunch, dinner and shopping.

The week begins with the Taste of the Town Stroll on Aug. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. A fund-raiser for the New Canaan Food Pantry, the Taste of the Town Stroll will collect donations throughout the evening in exchange for a chance to win prizes. Other activities and culinary selections will be available at each of the participating venues throughout downtown New Canaan.

Tucker Murphy, the chamber's executive director, said, "We're planning a Taste of the Town Stroll event that will not only deliver needed canned goods for the food pantry, but will provide engaging activities throughout our village, as merchants and restaurants work together to make this a really fun event. As long as you make a pantry contribution, it's all free for the public. Better yet, we have lots of prizes that we'll give away at the end of the Stroll."

Participating restaurants have a choice of two price points for their featured two-course luncheon menus and three-course dinner menus. Prix fixe will be: Lunch $10.12 or $15.12; and dinner $20.12 or $29.12.
