A 24-year-old Bridgeport man was charged by warrant last Monday by town police in connection with the burglary of a Nursery Road home five months after his 21-year-old wife was arrested in that burglary, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

Edward Santos, 24, of Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, Ogrinc said.

A 47-year-old Nursery Road woman said she returned to her home early in the afternoon on Oct. 21 to find her house in disarray and jewelry, watches, an iPad, a guitar and other items missing, Ogrinc said. The value of the property was estimated at $9,600, according to Ogrinc.

New Canaan Police tracked down and charged Santos' wife, 21-year-old Raisa Santos, for the crime in January after obtaining surveillance footage of her pawning the guitar, Ogrinc said.

In the footage, Edward Santos can be seen waiting for her in a car, Ogrinc said.
