The American Red Cross is in need of blood donors of all blood types to ensure an adequate supply through the fall.
Thanks to generous donors who answered the call during an emergency appeal for donations in the summer, the blood supply deficit was reduced and temporarily stopped the decline in donations. However, as the summer ends, there continues to be a need for all blood types.

Individuals who are 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

American Red Cross Fairfield County Blood Donation Center, 596 Westport Ave., Norwalk, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 12:30 to 6:15 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 12:30 to 6:15 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 11, from 1:45 to 6:15 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Norwalk Hospital, Maple Street, Norwalk, on Monday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road, Darien, on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 1:45 to 6:15 p.m.
