Albrecht named HR director at Waveny Care Network

Rebecca Albrecht has been appointed director of human resources for Waveny Care Network following the retirement of longtime staff member Mary Jane Glanz.

Albrecht will manage and oversee all human resources duties and staff-centered matters throughout the entire health-care organization, which encompasses Waveny Care Center, the Village at Waveny Care Center, New Canaan Inn, as well as a variety of programs and services including a new home health-care agency.

Albrecht joins Waveny Care Network with nearly 15 years of experience in the field of human resources, including consulting and senior management positions with UGO Entertainment Inc. (Hearst Interactive Media) and Primedia Inc. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of human resources for UGO Entertainment, overseeing employee relations and recruitment and retention, and spearheaded staff-focused initiatives in variable compensation design, performance management, departmental restructuring, succession planning and acquisition diligence and integration.

Albrecht has an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College of Saint Peter, Minn., and an MBA from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.

Waveny Care Network provides a comprehensive continuum of care to serve the growing needs of older adults from all areas. Waveny is a not-for-profit organization that offers independent living at New Canaan Inn, assisted living for people with Alzheimer's and memory loss at The Village, and skilled nursing at Waveny Care Center. It also includes the Brown Geriatric Evaluation Clinic, a Geriatric Care Management team that provides 24-hour coverage, an adult day program that offers flexible hours and transportation six days a week, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, and respite programs at both The Village and Care Center.
