The New Canaan Republican Town Committee will sponsor the public forum "Obamacare: Repeal & Replace ... With What?" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the Outback Teen Center, 71 Main St.

The forum will include a panel of experts featuring Betsy McCaughey, author of "Beating Obamacare 2014: Avoid the Landmines and Protect Your Health, Income and Freedom."

McCaughey is a former lieutenant governor of New York and a former resident of New Canaan. She has been a television, radio and newspaper commentator on the Affordable Care Act since 2009.

The panel will be moderated by state Sen. L. Scott Frantz, R-Greenwich, who represents Greenwich, North Stamford and the western portion of New Canaan. Other panelists will be New Canaan health insurance broker Lottie Fisher and Richard Amerling of Manhattan.

Fisher is owner of the health insurance firm Major Medical Quoteline, which is based in New Canaan. She has been serving New Canaan residents' needs for personal insurance for three decades.

Amerling is a physician practicing in New York City, where he also is an associate professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and also director of outpatient dialysis at the Beth Israel Medical Center. He is president-elect of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. Amerling is the author of the "Physician's Declaration of Independence."

The implications of the ACA and what Congressional Republicans mean when they talk about repealing and replacing it with market-based reforms will be discussed.

Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Outback Teen Center. Copies of Betsy McCaughey's book will be available for purchase and signing before and briefly after the forum.
