A car accident on Heritage Hill Road near Route 123 broke a telephone pole and damaged a transformer, leading to the first power outages in New Canaan.

An officer at the scene, who said he had been with the driver, said he was unsure whether the driver was transported to the hospital or not, but that the man did not seem to have critical injuries.

The Connecticut Light & Power reports that 368 customers in New Canaan are without power as of 1 p.m. Friday.
