A minor rash of auto break-ins in New Canaan

Police are investigating the break-in of four unlocked vehicles at two homes on lower South Avenue near the Darien town line in the past week, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.
Police responded to a report from a residence at South Avenue near Gerdes Road that a Jeep Wrangler and Hyundai Santa Fe had been entered and the contents of the vehicles rummaged through, Ogrinc said.
A break-in of a third and fourth vehicle at a second residence was reported at 12 noon on March 21, according to Ogrinc. In that case, a $10 bill was taken from one or the other of the two vehicles, a Toyota FG Cruise and a Ford Explorer, Ogrinc said.

Police are also investigating a break-in of of a 2008 Lexus GX-470 parked in the New Canaan train station parking lot of Elm Street in which the thief broke the passenger side front window, according to Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.
The sole item taken was a small flashlight the owner valued at $10, according to Ogrinc.
