$4,000 in jewelry stolen from home

A Bittersweet Lane couple reported June 12 that more than $4,000 in jewelry was stolen from their house, according to New Canaan police.
The 54-year-old male and 53-year-old female were away from their home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to police. When they arrived home, the woman noticed the door inside the garage was ajar, and oOnce she entered her bedroom, she immediately noticed her jewelry was gone, police said.
Between 60 and 70 pieces of jewelry, mostly Alex and Ani charm bracelets, were taken, police said. Police said entry through the garage door was done by force. The woman was also missing gold necklaces, police said.
The couple told police that they had seen a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood in the days leading up to the burglary, the report said.
