Julia Pitts, 22, of 5 Old Norwalk Road, New Canaan, was arrested Oct. 30 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs and using a cellphone while operating a vehicle.
An officer parked in the Maple Street lot on South Avenue noticed Pitts driving with her hand to her ear at 10:34 p.m., according to police. After he pulled the car over, the officer noticed Pitts' eyes were glassy and he smelled alcohol, police said. She was administered a field sobriety test, which she failed, according to the report.
She posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 12.
