Lisa Corrado Nutrition is celebrating its 10th anniversary of making busy people healthier.

The company launched in 2003 when Corrado, a New Canaan resident, left her corporate job and started offering personal chef and nutritional counseling services under the name Eating Well.

Before launching the company, Corrado returned to school, earning a Master of Science in human nutrition and a degree in culinary arts.

As part of her culinary training, Corrado worked at New Canaan's Sole Ristorante.

She enjoyed meal preparation for area families for several years before deciding it was time to focus specifically on nutritional counseling.

At this time, she changed the company name to Lisa Corrado Nutrition and opened her office on Down River Road.

She also writes a monthly column, "Nutrition Solutions," for the New Canaan News and Darien News.

Corrado combines her clinical nutrition and culinary training into actionable, personalized eating plans for clients who want to address concerns such as weight management, high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes and gastroenterological diagnoses.

Her own cancer diagnosis in 2010 -- and subsequent successful treatment -- renewed her enthusiasm for working with those challenged by medical concerns.

She said she believes it's all about the food, and often can be heard saying, "You are what you eat. Be better."
