NEW CANAAN — Over 100 kids from Saxe Middle School took off on a magic carpet Friday evening when fifth and sixth grade students put on Aladdin Jr.

“The kids have been working hard,” said Matthew Blank, stage manager, who helped produce the show alongside his wife, Lauren Nicole Sherwood, director and choreographer.

“It’s about a two-and-a-half-month process,” he said, and included songs and dance numbers, prop preparation, set designing, and a lot of high spirits.
