New Canaan-based Bankwell filed an application with the state Department of Banking to open a branch in downtown Westport, which would be its first there.
Bankwell aims to open a full-service branch at 100 Post Road in Westport. Bankwell is taking over space previously occupied by clothier Steven Alan.
Recently, Bankwell hired Trumbull resident Scott Davis as vice president and commercial lender, along with Milford resident Damon Ralph as assistant vice president and commercial lender and Frank Coppola as commercial lending.
Davis previously spent four years at EverBank, and before that a decade with GE Real Estate. Ralph and Coppola both worked most recently for Wells Fargo in commercial and SBA lending roles respectively.
Reynolds + Rowella promoted Redding resident Steve Gagnon to assurance partner in the firm’s New Canaan office, one of two along locations along with Ridgefield providing audit and accounting services.
A certified public accountant, Gagnon joined Reynolds + Rowella in 2015, previously working for BlumShapiro in Shelton and the McGladrey predecessor firm of RSM in Stamford. Gagnon is a graduate of Bentley College.
Bob Virgulak Jr. joined Norwalk-based DVB Commercial Realty as a commercial and residential real estate broker.
Virgulak spent a decade as a personal trainer with The Fitness Club of New Canaan before launching multiple companies starting in 2000 that eventually were included in his 3Dimensional Fitness brand offering personal training and home fitness facilities.
Nancy von Euler will join Horizons at New Canaan Country School as the new executive director.
Hosted on the campus of New Canaan Country School, Horizons New Canaan serves over 400 K-12 students from low-income families primarily from Stamford and Norwalk via a six-week summer academic and enrichment program, and school year programming.
von Euler is currently the vice president of programs at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF), where she has worked since 2008.
Prior to joining FCCF, von Euler spent nearly 20 years doing program development and grants management for municipal agencies and nonprofits. She holds a bachelor’s degree in urban studies from Vassar College and an MPA in nonprofit management from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Administration.
