Connecticut Boat Club’s rowers produced a successful summer, excelling at each regatta they competed in.

The Norwalk-based rowing club sent its athletes to the USRowing 2017 Club Nationals (Bethel, Ohio) in July, the CanAmMex in Victoria British Columbia, Canada in July and the Junior World Championships in Trakai, Lithuania this month.

At the USRowing 2017 Club Nationals, Heidi Jacobson of Greenwich and Jenna Macrae of New Canaan were the stern pair of Connecticut Boat Club’s U-19 8 boat that won the gold medal in the event.

Macrae also won the gold medal in the intermediate 8 race. Jacobson placed first in the U-17 8 event. Catherine Garrett of Darien placed second in both the U-19 8+ and the intermediate 8+ races. Jacobson finished third in the U-17 4 race.

At the CanAmMex competition, Garrett claimed the gold medal in the 8+ event and earned the silver medal in the 2- race.

The Junior World Championships saw three-time medalist Kaitlyn Kynast of Ridgefield earn a bronze medal in the 4- race. Having finished her final season with Connecticut Boat Club, Kynast will continue her rowing career at Stanford University in the fall.

Julia Abbruzzese of Darien was in the U-19 National Team spare 2 race that finished second to Germany in the race of team spares.
