BASEBALL

The Stamford White Sox are accepting applications for the upcoming summer 2010 baseball season. The Sox compete in the highly competitive Westchester Baseball Association wooden bat league. We have been to the league finals and New England Regionals the past two seasons. CO-ED T-BALL

The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration for Coed T-Ball is underway. There are two separate T-Ball programs. Five-year-old T-Ball is for children that will turn age 5 by April 30, 2010. This program will use the T for hitting through out the program. Six-year-old T-Ball is for children who will turn 6 by April 30, 2010. This program will be a combination of coach pitch, and use of the T. Children turning 7 years old by April 30, 2010, are not eligible. Please see the Parks and Recreation Small Fry program for info for those children. The program will meet on Saturday afternoons April 24-June 5 at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center Field. There will be a practice, and a three-inning game. BASEBALL SUMMER CAMPS

The Brunswick Baseball Camp was established to help develop and improve baseball skills for boys 6-12. The emphasis is on skill development, practice and competition. Baseball games are played daily within each age bracket. We also offer other afternoon options (i.e. floor hockey, soccer, basketball, kickball, etc.). Camp runs June 21st through July 23rd. Crusader Baseball School for 6-12 year olds located at Trinity Catholic High School under the direction of Tracy Nichols and Mike Walsh will be held the weeks of June 28-July 2 and July 5-July 9 from 9 am-noon daily. BASKETBALL SUMMER CAMPS

The MVP Sports Camp for Girls Basketball returns to Trinity Catholic High School for the Summer of 2010. Trinity Catholic girls basketball coach Tom Kriz will be in charge of the following camps. Basketball for girls Grades 3-9 (July 5-9). Basketball for girls (Grades 5-11) July 12-16. The cost of each camp week is $175 if registered before June 15. After June 15, it's $195 per week. The Greenwich Junior Football League non-contact football camp will take place at Greenwich High School this July. Session 1, for grades 9-12 only, will take place from July 19-23. FIELD HOCKEY SUMMER CAMPS

Greenwich Academy is again hosting the Williams College Field Hockey Camp.The head coach is Williams' Alix Barrele. It's open to girls age 8 and older. Campers are grouped by ability and challenged on a daily basis. Sessions will be divided into skill development, individual play, game like drills and concepts of team play. Session 1--June 9-10-11 (9 am-noon). Additional session on June 10 from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Session 2-- June 14-17 (9 a.m - noon). Session 3--June 14-17 (4 p.m.-7 p.m.). SOCCER

The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation is holding registration for its Town sponsored Spring Mighty Mites Soccer program. The program is open to boys and girls ages 3 through 11 years old and proof of age will be required for anyone new to the program. Mighty Mites will take place at the Upper and Lower Havemeyer fields behind Town Hall. It will start on Saturday, April 24 and will end on June 5th with a rain date of Saturday, June 12th. Brad Wallace and his staff will oversee ages 3 - 8 and Jon Bradley and the staff of Eastern Soccer Academy will coach ages 9 -11. An informal coach's clinic for new or returning coaches is set for Wed April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall's Cone Room located on the 2nd floor. At that time there will be a skill drills demonstration and coaches shirts and whistles will be handed out. Anyone wishing to volunteer will need to complete a background check if they have not already done so. All players must wear shin guards and provide their own soccer ball a size 3 for anyone 4 years old or younger and a size 4 for everyone else. SKATEBOARDING CAMP

The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration is underway for our summer Skatepark Ramp Camps. The Ramp camp is for skateboarders between the ages of 8 and 14. During the camp time the skaters will learn new tricks, play games, and skate on this unique park. The program runs weekly Monday-Thursday 9am to noon with a rain date on Friday. The skatepark has an experienced, fully trained staff that is friendly and helpful and can help your child learn how to skate, or improve his/her skills. Weekly sessions are: June 30-July 2, July 5-8, July 12-15, August 9-12, August 16-19, and August 23-26. There are also Pee Wee clinics for skateboarders 6 to 8 years of age that run for one-hour 6:30 to 7:30 pm Monday - Thursday with a rain date on Friday. There is still space available in Greenwich Skateboarding and Inline Skating Clinics. The classes will meet after school for children 6 to 12 years of age. Each clinic will meet four consecutive Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning April 20. The fee for the four sessions is $60 for annual members, and $90 for non-members. The price includes free practice skate time before or after your lesson until the Park closes. TENNIS

All Greenwich town tennis courts are open for play. Residents must have a valid tennis card to play on any of the 36 town tennis courts. To receive tennis card applications please call the Department of Parks and Recreation at 203-622-3788. The cost for a tennis card is $28 for the season; guest cards are available for $45. Children 5 to 15 years old may use their park pass; seniors may use their senior park pass. The lights at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center will be on until 10 p.m. each day starting Mon. May 3.
