Keynote speakers from Seven Revolutions and Boston Consulting Group, and panelists whose companies are part of the reinvention and rebirth of ‘Made in the USA’ will offer attendees a first-hand look at the steps they took to go from surviving to thriving in global marketplace.

As world markets begin to show signs of recovery from a deep and long recession, companies throughout the United States are cautiously reinventing themselves in order to succeed in the global marketplace.

“Made in the USA,” the 27th annual World Trade Day at Bryant University, offers participants opportunities to learn from area companies that are winning business back from overseas. The conference begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, on the Bryant University campus, 1150 Douglas Pike.

World Trade Day, offered through Bryant’s Chafee Center for International Business, is one of the largest international trade conferences in the Northeast. This year’s agenda includes:

8:15 a.m.: Global Security in the 21st Century,” a keynote presentation by Seven Revolutions global security expert Thomas Sanderson, deputy director and senior fellow at the Transnational Threats Project

9:30 a.m.: “Made in the USA Forum” with Giovani Feroce, CEO and CMO of Alex and Ani, and Cheryl Merchant, president and CEO of Hope Global

11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Concurrent morning sessions

  •     From Surviving to Thriving: Find out how established, traditional manufacturing companies are achieving long-term sustained success on a global scale
  •     Déjà vu: Making the Old New: The reinvention and rebirth of core New England industries
  •     Growth and Expansion through Product Diversification: Capitalizing on global opportunities through product diversification

12:30 p.m.: “The U.S. Manufacturing Renaissance,” the luncheon keynote presentation by Justin Rose, principal at the Boston Consulting Group and co-author of Made in America, Again

2 p.m.: Ingenuity and Innovation: Learn about cutting-edge developments and visionary thinking by New England companies

The schedule also includes exhibitor showcase, a resource demonstration and networking reception.
