The Fairchester Business Resource's meeting on Aug. 18 will feature Nancy Gould, an associate with LTS Financial Partners, LLC, and Kim Giangrande, founder of Intuitive HR LLC and a strategic human resource professional, who will present on the topic "Got Talent? Tips for Finding and Retaining Your Best People."
The event will take place Thursday, Aug. 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast provided by the Fairchester Business Resource organizing committee. After the initial coffee, breakfast and networking session from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m., the semi-formal meeting will start promptly at 8 a.m. Giangrande and Gould's presentation will run from about 8:25 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road in Darien. New sales associate
Edward F. Ryle has recently joined Prudential Connecticut Realty as a sales associate in the Darien office. Ryle will also be associated with the Litchfield office of Prudential Connecticut Realty where he maintains a second home.

Previously Ryle worked as an account management and sales professional, most recently as the Field Sales Manager at Ring's End for the past twenty years. He resides in Darien with his wife Carol. Stamford resident William Hodel has been appointed property manager at Swig Equities LLC. In his new position, Hodel will direct day-to-day operations of several of the commercial high-rise office buildings in the company's FiDi (Financial District) portfolio. Prior to joining Swig Equities, Hodel was senior property manager at Jones Lang LaSalle. In 2008, he was awarded the BOMA Pinnacle award for Best Corporate Property of the Year. Hodel earned an associates in applied science degree from City University of New York.
Publisher of magazine new VP
Business publisher Ken Heath has been elected to a national leadership position with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The Stamford resident was elected to a one-year term as an MDA national vice president during the association's July 15 meeting in Los Angeles. MDA national vice presidents provide volunteer assistance and counsel in their areas of expertise to support the association's lifesaving research and services programs. Heath is the publisher of Traders Magazine.
Norwalker awarded grant
Monique Wilson, of Norwalk, has been awarded a business technology grant from the Women's Business Development Council's Opportunity Fund. Monique is the owner of Oasis Therapeutic Massage for Wellness in Norwalk, established in 2007. She graduated from WBDC's Fast Trac New Venture Program in April and has been given a Dell laptop installed with QuickBooks software to keep track of her clients.
New officer at GE
GE Capital Real Estate announced the appointment of Kathleen Carey as chief compliance officer. Carey will be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining the international compliance strategy for the unit and will report to Mark Begor, CEO and president, GE Capital Real Estate, and to Michael Herde, GE Capital's chief compliance officer. Carey assumes the role after serving as chief operating officer for GE Capital Real Estate's Investment Management group, as well as leader of the group's global Six Sigma team. She joined GE in 1996 as a portfolio manager with GE Capital Investment Advisors. Carey holds a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany and JD from St. John's University School of Law. Before joining GE, she practiced law as a partner in the commercial real estate group of the Stamford-based law firm Cummings & Lockwood.
